New to CBD? You are in the right place. Below, we have gathered the most common questions in plain language, grouped into three topics: the basics, using our products, and Swiss law.

We keep things factual and avoid health claims. For deeper reading, see our guides on what CBD is and how to dose CBD oil.

The basics

What is CBD, and how is it different from cannabis?

Cannabis is a plant that contains hundreds of natural compounds. The best known are cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids. Among roughly eighty cannabinoids, four stand out: THC, CBD, CBG and CBN.

CBD, or cannabidiol, is just one of these molecules. Therefore, it is not the same as cannabis as a whole. On its own, CBD is non-intoxicating, has no narcotic action and does not cause physical dependence.

Does CBD make you high?

No. CBD is non-intoxicating. The "high" linked to cannabis comes from THC, a different compound. In Switzerland, THC is strictly limited by law.

What are the main cannabinoids?

The four found in meaningful amounts are THC (the intoxicating one), CBD (non-intoxicating), CBG (often called the "parent" cannabinoid) and CBN (which forms as the plant ages). To learn more, read our guide on what CBD is.

Using our products

How do I take CBD oil?

Most oils come with a graduated dropper. The classic method is to place the drops under the tongue, hold for a short moment, then swallow. For the full method, see our guide on how to dose CBD oil.

How much should I take?

There is no single right amount. The common approach is to start low and go slow, adjusting gradually until you feel comfortable. Always follow the instructions on your product label.

What is the best time to take it?

It is mainly a question of routine. Some prefer the morning with breakfast, others the evening. Ultimately, the best time is the one you can keep consistent each day.

Oil, e-liquid, pod or inhaler — what is the difference?

Oil is taken as drops under the tongue. E-liquids and pods are vaped with a device and dosed by puff. Inhalers offer a discreet, smoke-free option built around aromas. Each suits a different routine — browse our products to compare.

How should I store my CBD oil?

Keep it in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Close the cap tightly after each use to preserve freshness and aroma.

CBD & Swiss law

Is CBD legal in Switzerland?

Yes, within clear limits. A cannabis product is legal in Switzerland when its total average THC content stays below 1%. This is the highest threshold in Europe. Above 1%, the product is treated as a narcotic under the Federal Narcotics Act (LStup).

Can a CBD product contain THC?

Yes, in small amounts. As long as the total average THC stays below the 1% Swiss limit, the product remains legal. Cannaliz products are formulated to comply with this rule.

Will CBD show up on a drug test? Can I drive?

Possibly. Legal products may still contain trace THC, which some tests detect. Importantly, driving under the influence of cannabis remains an offence in Switzerland, regardless of a product's legal status. When in doubt, be cautious.

Do you ship internationally?

Cannaliz ships discreetly to customers in many countries. However, CBD and THC laws differ widely from place to place. Therefore, it is your responsibility to check that the product is legal where you live before ordering.
